He hadn't sworn allegiance to either of them, so no ordinary Signer or Dark Signer had enough energy within them to trigger them...and that energy felt all too familiar.

Because growing up with only half a set of emotions for eighteen years means that he and his brother get rather polarized-the extreme ends of a magnet or whatever. It's all they know, and they do it all the time...so of course they'd take it to extremes. :P

Haha, they've actually already found out, actually. Their reaction is rather muted, though, because they're in a mass of other Yuuseis when they find this out, and (Yuusei, at least) mask their reaction in order to save "Yuusei's" face. Although Ryuusei will be rather irate and anxious...and Yuusei is calm understanding. One of them wanted this, the other didn't. It's rather...It's a work in progress, really. Read: North hasn't quite figured it out yet. :D
