So, I went to the deepest, darkest depths of my sketching folder on Photobucket. The very first thing on it? This.

Ah, memories. I'm sure we all remember that old "Yuusei is a duel therapist" joke that popped up around...say, episode 40 and 41 I think, the second Yuusei vs. Aki duel. And I originally had an actual sketch done, but back then, I was a young'in. I had no scanner. I was new to LiveJournal. I was a fandom 'noob, and a roleplaying wannabe. Ah, the old days of innocence. By the time I had gotten a scanner, the original sketch was lost, so what you see there is a vague approximation on Paint I did as an attempt to be hip and awesome arteeeest. The sketch probably was in this style, though.

also even now I still suck at drawing bodies so you just get their heads drawn in a hastily-scribbled-in-due-to-afterthought-splitscreen

Oh my god I remember that picture. Yusei's circle-head. Heee. ♥ (you know, that old style did have its own kind of charm... I am ridiculous and think both are nifty)

ahahaha I didn't think you'd remember that, I don't think we were even friends at that point ffff.

And yes I had no way to draw circles with a mouse so I'm like "HERE HAVE PAINT'S CIRCLE TOOL 8U"

...and somehow I think the hands look better in that old blocky style anyways instead of that one mutilated finger you can see on Yuusei's chin in the new one haha

Yea but I'm a creepy stalker type who sees everything. XD

And everyone knows hands are impossible to draw well. Weird blocks with lines are totally the way to go.

I must admit that I have a thingy for your early paint style (besides the hair, they're huge. And scary. And they probably hate children and puppies and candies), but for being drawn in a hurry as you said it's a pretty good sketch, the expressions are really well done.

It is kind of adorable when viewed from the eyes of nostalgia but I remember being thoroughly embarrassed and ashamed of it when I first drew it. (And fff, I actually used the straight-line tool to draw that, it came out so sharp I was like 'fff this can't be right but ahahahaha impaling stuff on it')

Expressions are the one thing that I try to get right, for some reason I'm a stickler for them. ;-;
