Ignorance is Bliss

"What...exactly is a hockey stick, Kiryuu?"

Crow looks absolutely curious and enthralled at this new tidbit of the outside world, and Kiryuu has to keep himself from facepalming. It's difficult enough to get a signal from the nearby city with their junk, much less any foreign sport. After all, who in Neo Domino City paid attention to lesser sports like hockey when there were duel tournaments going on?

"Well, ah, it's a stick that you use to play hockey with."

"What's hockey? Sounds like a stupid name for a game to me." Great, now Jack was getting into it as well. It's hard enough to remember what hockey was like, considering his memories of it are fragmented and vague from old newspaper clips and videos scrounged up from the older days. How would he explain this to his younger comrades?

"Everyone has these sticks, see, and they hit something with it-"

"So it's like baseball, except everyone has a bat?"

"No!" How on Earth Crow knew about baseball and not hockey would always escape the older man. "They don't hit the thing into the air, it keeps sliding on the ground!"

"That doesn't sound like much fun," grumbles the tallest of the four. "What's the point of that?"

"To get it into the other team's goal, of course!"

"There are better ways of scoring points than rolling something into some marked off space. Something more challenging would be better..."

"It's plenty challenging, the players are always crashing into each other to keep others from scoring and stuff..."

"Sounds like they're all klutzes that couldn't keep up with Crow the Bullet's speed, ha!"

"No, that's not it at all..."

"Kiryuu." The sudden calm voice of the fourth and quietest member of the team is enough to draw Kiryuu's attention away from his impending headache. Yuusei never failed to surprise him when he piped up in the middle of their conversations, mostly because he didn't do it often.

"Perhaps you should just tell the kids that an opposing gang member got in a lucky punch. That's more believable anyways."

Invasion

"It was self-defense, I swear! The woman comes in, obviously drunk-gods, her breath smelled awful-and tries groping me right at the sight of me. I don't even know how she got in that window-I thought we had security measures installed after that last one got in through there!"

Mikage only sighs as Jack continues to shriek about crazy fangirls and how he never expected or wanted this sort of thing as part of being the new Duel King and simply begins to pencil down another report.

"That makes the third one this week...Atlus-sama is surprisingly pouplar..."

PFFFFT I just about DIED of hilarity. XD From BOTH! Oh Yusei, oh Kiryu... oh JACK. HAHAHA XD
I like how Yusei just quietly pipes up with logic at the end. And of course Riding Duels are the superior sport! XD They have motorcycles! That go into space.

Jack's histeria in the second drabble is awesome. Now there's a consequence of being the KING that Jack didn't foresee. XD

Basically once I read a prompt my mind comes up with a single quote or line that I could expect in the fic. And then my mind just sort of constructs something around that single line. It's weird. Also I daydream a lot and a lot of fic ideas come from weird dreams that I never remember the next day except for vague bits and pieces.

TL'DR: No life + hyperactive imagination = Insta-stories!
