Fanfiction meme (stolen from Destiny-chan~)
Do you read or write fanfiction?
I do both
When did you first start reading/writing fanfiction?
Er...around fourteenish. I got into it pretty quick after reading some on the Serebii forums.
What was your first fandom?
Pokemon. Loved it since I was six or seven.
First ship?
Ash/Misty. I was such the little shipper back then~
What website do you use most?
Fanfiction.net and LiveJournal. Usually now my stuff shows up on LJ before I put it on FF.net because it's easier to do quick edits here, plus a lot of the writers I respect are here and easy to contact for reviews. :D
What do you think of Fanfiction.net?
It's really organized and easy and convenient. Unfortunately it's hard to find good stories in certain categories.
What fandoms have you written in?
I've written in Pokemon, Yu-Gi-Oh! GX and 5D's, Eyeshield 21, and Ryuusei no Rockman.
Pairings?
I've written an Ash/Misty fanfiction that I thought was real brilliant-but I was fourteen. Now I look back at it and I cringe at how lovey-dovey it was. Unfortunately it's still my most popular fic and half my FFnet subscribers are waiting for more Ash x Misty, I think. :/ I've also written Juudai/Asuka, Yuu/Jack, Yuu/Crow, Yuu/Aki, Jack/Crow, Crow/Kiryuu, Rex/Rudger, and more. I ship a lot of things, actually, and I'm not above crack shippings, either.
Any fandoms you would like to write in?
I was once considering entering the Naruto fandom. However my increasing distaste for it and the increasing similarity of a lot of the ideas have left me unenthusiastic about mine-a lot of them seem like repeats, now. :/ So nothing new, really.
Do reviews affect how you write in any way?
It depends on what kind of reviews I get. If I get constructive criticism, I'll use it. unfortunately it seems that the only crit I seem to get is on my occasional grammar mistake and not on the story itself. ._.
Do you use a beta?
I had one once, for my GX fic "Archer." I haven't written that one in more than a year, but I think she might still be willing to beta it. It was mostly due to my insecurity in writing a multichap that looked like it would last a long time.
What ratings do you read/write?
Everything. My repertoire has grown significantly since I joined LJ. Thanks a lot, guys. :D
What warnings have you used on your fiction?
Foul language, sexual hints/scenes, etc. I don't warn about Yaoi. I shouldn't have to.
Do you have any squicks?
Incest. No can do. I only do brotherly love when it comes to family members.
Do you Role-play online? If so, what?
Two AU Yuuseis, two crossover Yuuseis, a dub!verse Carly and a canon Yanagi.
Have you ever stolen something from another person's work?
No, although I have been inspired by what other people have written and what other people with more insight with me have to say on the series.
Favorite fandom to write/read?
So far, I'm a 5D's fag. Look at my FFnet profile, for srs. I mean...jeez.
Favorite writer/writers?
A lot of my favorite writers are here on LJ:
digitalstarry ,
fortuneladyicey ,
immicolia , ,
utensil_drawer and others. On FFNet I like Higuchimon, Fennikutsu Ai, and Disobedience Writer the most.
How long should a chapter be?
Oh, depends. But chapters that are extremes are almost never appealing (unless, of course, they're following a challenge like 100 word drabbles).
Do you write/read drabbles?
I do both. :D Drabbles are relatively new to me, and revived my interest in writing fandom. They're so much fun to write, and cramming implicit meanings into a single chapter is well...a challenge. :) I respect anyone that can write a good drabble.
Any fandoms you avoid?
GX, recently. FFNet has poisoned the fandom for me. Same goes for Naruto and Ryuusei no Rockman.
Pairings you avoid?
...only if they're commonly written horribly. It changes from time to time...and unfortunately some of my once favorite parings are on this list.
Do the number of reviews tell how good a story is?
See Naruto stories. Even the most horrible ones get more reviews than my most popular fic. ._.
What do you think of Mary Sues?
When I first came into the fandom, I wasn't really aware of them (and came close to writing a Naruto fic with one, yikes!). Now that I've seen them, I can't say I approve. I'm a writer who's gone through a few knocks, so yeah, I get the idea. OCs can be well written, and there's a fine line between what I call an OC and what I call a Mary Sue/Gary Stu. I can tolerate OCs if they're well-written, and I've seen quite a few that are. OC =/= Mary Sue/Gary Stu, but it can be if one isn't careful.
Have you ever flamed someone?
No. I can't do it. Even reviews where I crit someone try their best to be polite. ._.
Have you ever been flamed?
Yep. For killing off Ash in my most popular fic. And they're all anonymous too. How charming. -0-

Sam_CC is the most active author in that challenge -- and she definitely has a talent for writing Ryo and Fubuki.
*hides under the table* I'm more often simply embarrassed by the stuff over there, because it's so riddled with typos, among other things (sitting down and re-checking something before submitting has never been one of my strong suits ^^;;)

Oh, Sam Cyber-Cat? I've seen some of her stuff-and it's good. :D
Heee, I have a problem with that too. That's why I have a tendency to post things on LJ first, now. It's easier to see the typos. :D
