The boring first half of the episode was boring.

So, we start out with Yuusei dueling at night on the highway. Hm. He's dueling against some random NPC of sorts, but when Yuusei is backed into a corner, he summons Stardust Dragon. And then we hear the NPC say a very familiar sounding "I have you now".

The said NPC then transforms (lol whut) into Ghost, and we see the same summoning sequence of...Machine Emporer Wisel! It then starts stealing Stardust...

...and then all of a sudden Yuusei starts hearing Sherry. Whut. First meeting and already you're imagining her talking to you. Stop making me want to ship Yuu/Aki/Sherry, show.

Yuusei then cries out when Stardust is still struggling inside Wisel and he...wakes up. It was all a dreaaaaaaam.

The next day Yuusei pretty much demands Jack to duel him, claiming that he wants to attempt dueling without Synchros. Jack accepts (with much flair, drama ~~queen~~ king that he is) .

So, we go to the duel, Yuu gets pushed into a corner on the first turn, then he counters, then Jack summons Red Daemon's and deals a heavy blow, leaving Yuusei harshly breathing and Jack turns off the duel, despite the duel not being over yet.

...So Yuusei didn't actually lose. And he's still acting overdramatic. When did he become such a wuss?

Anyways, Jack gives Yuusei a lecture (and if it has anything to do with "Who cares about his Synchro Killer, you won't win unless you win in your own style, stop trying to change it to something you're not, kick his ass with Synchros anyway" I will love him forever) before driving off.

Yuusei's shaking all over, but he feels someone glaring at him, but when he looks around-there's noone there. It turns out that other masked D-Wheeler from the opening is watching him.

Theeeeeeenn, the interesting stuff happens. Turns out there's a dinner party to introduce the Riding Duel Grand Prix, and there's all sorts of teams there (Including a team of professionals called TEAM UNICORN, lawlz. And they're all men, which cracks me up horribly.) Rua's all excited, Ruka's just watching (and I don't thing she actually talks throught the whole thing), Aki's in a little red dress,

Carly's in her prom dress..

Ushio is in a suit~<3!

JEAGER HAS A LITTLE BOWTIE~<3~!

Crow and Yuusei are in their usual attire (goddammit you two, it's a formal dinner party, can't you two wear something formal?

...now I want fic on how Crow is bitching about wearing formal attire and having no clue at all how to put in on and looking extremely dorky when he does put it on right...eventually...and then deciding to go to the party dressed normally. lD )

Really, though, show? We already know that Jack is a unique and beautiful snowflake. Did you really have to prove your point by dressing him up as a pimp? Not that I'm complaining-he looks so precious and bitchy in that suit. Sparkles and all.

I spent ~~all fucking day~~ twenty five minutes collecting screencaps and cutting-and-pasting them together in Paint to make this. You'd better be grateful for this full view of his glory.

His reasoning behind the getup-He must have "class", or something like that.

What's even more precious is that Crow starts bitching at him about this "class", or whatever he's talking about. ~~Squabbleshipping is the perfect name for Jack/Crow I swear to god.~~

What's also amusing is that Yuusei is the only one not to visibly react to Jack's...unique choice of clothing and it makes me giggle because he looks so srs and angry. We all know it's because he's such an angst whore and is still moping about what happened earlier but I can't help but be amuse myself into thinking that he's frowning because Jack stole his sparkles. :D

Anyyyways, Jeager starts this little intro thing for the WRGP, then we see the return of the MC (YEEEEEY!) and after this Yuusei is approached by members of Team Unicorn. Only Crow is a little fanboy and interrupts the conversation, and Yuu leaves.

Crow goes after him and Yuusei pushes him away with a bitchy ol' "HANASE!" (oh god I can see the MAD's now...) and Crow tries to comfort him because he is still depressed over "losing" the duel and over Wisel and yadda yadda ya (you big BABY).

Only then this guy just interrupts everything by crashing through a window on his D-Wheel and trying to run over people on his D-Wheel in protest of something about the WRGP. (He has a marker, so perhaps it's because he wasn't allowed to participate due to criminal status?) He and his D-Wheel make me think of a fatter, uglier...um...what was that guy's name again? I only remember the dub name, Hunter Pace. That guy who was always challenging Jack in season one and had the Burning Skullhead cards. ...bah.

Anyway, Aki upends his D-Wheel and sends him flying through another window with BRD (FUCK YES YOU'RE BEING AWESOME AGAIN AKI). However, he escapes again, and this causes Placido (the tall guy of the Three Tenors) to leave.

Lol, after the incident, you can see Jack in the background talking to reporters. He's such an attention whore.

AND THEN, AND THEN WE GET THIS.

PLACIDO ON A MOTHERFUCKING D-WHEEL MAKING THIS PLOT DEVICE OF A CHARACTER CRASH AND GO UP IN FLAMES. FUCK YES.

Yuusei and the gang try to get to the garage so they can get on their D-Wheels to chase after this guy (and apparently Ghost, because since the Duel Chasers were unable to identify Placido, they assume he's Ghost), but the same mysterious D-Wheeler in the opening blocks their way. He mentions Ghost, and then demands a duel against Yuusei...

I'm still watching (I just got up to the part with the guy with the pink mohawk who obviously stole Bommer's bike) but I swear, I spent the entire first half of the episode in so much seething RAGE over Yusei and his emo-fits and the fact that apparently he can never be shown losing onscreen EVER and... RAAARG!

And then Jack wore his pimp suit and Crow bitched at him about it and made it all better. Oh, show. You know my buttons. -_-;

It wasn't just boring. It was seriously rage inducing for me. My general dislike of Yusei just went up by levels I didn't even know that it could.

How can it be that I am so generally fond of fandom's intererpretations of him, yet Yusei in canon drives me absolutely batshit with annoyance.

Probably because canon puts him up on a pedestal pretty much constantly. And that can get tiring. Very tiring.

On a lighter note, Immi, you write Crow really brililantly. Can I make a fanfic request based on what I wrote somewhere up in the entry? *woobie eyes*

Honestly, as soon as you mentioned it I started thinking about it.... And now I'm thinking about it as OT4 fic and Aki helping Crow put a tie on and Crow making flaily "Nuuuu! I can do it myself!" motions with his hands. And... XD
